Since 2009, the Ethugalpura International Chess Championship has been Sri Lanka’s premier chess event. Founded by the Knights Flame Chess Club under the leadership of President IA Werochana Perera, we’ve grown from a modest 204 participants to over 1,000 players, making us the largest and most prestigious chess tournament in the country.
